10 Unforgettable Moments and a Song.
Thanks Cathmor from Eye for an Eye for this BA Shared Topic idea.

Top 10 Unforgettable Warcraft Moments (for a Raiding GM)
- Turning in the charter
- First guild only boss kill
- Killing the last boss of any instance for the first time
- The first time you have no open recruitment positions
- The first time someone asks “What’s a good guild on this server?” in trade chat and someone not associated with your guild mentions your guild.
- Seeing a raider develop under your tutelage
- The first time they “do it without you.” - It takes a strong leader to be irreplaceable, it takes a stronger leader to create a guild that can function without them.
- Overcoming adversity - Even you were struggling, but you pulled through and the guild is stronger now.
- The first time there’s nothing left for you to kill so you have to give raiders the night off.
- The first time someone tells you “You have a member for life.” and you believe them.
And a Song
I was learning some new audio software and recorded a round. Given the lack of trolls (though I did get a Tauren) and overwhelming positive feedback from the last time I sang for ya, I thought I’d share again.
The file can be downloaded here if the embedding doesn’t work for you.

It’s been forever since I’ve heard that song… probably something like 10 year or there about… wonderful to hear.

“Killing the last boss of any instance for the first time”
- Always an amazing feeling in my opinion; the first time I killed Kael, after being stuck on him for months and months (pre-series-of-nerf-patches) I nearly fell out of my chair, and I was shaking so hard that I couldn’t link loot in chat.
Great voice btw! I wish I could sing like that….
Well, I’ve enjoyed reading your blog since I saw your interview over on World of Matticus. Keep up the great work!

“Seeing a raider develop under your tutelage” definitely a great feeling! While I only ever got to experience it on a smaller scale, it feels wonderful knowing that someone has taken a little of what you know, added something of their own, and improved out of sight.
By the way, the new site looks great!

I have mixed feelings about the “first time they do it without you.” My boyfriend, another guild officer, and I went out to dinner with a friend from out of town the third time my guild killed Vashj. We were so worried they’d have trouble! And when we come home, they’re all still on vent, gushing about the awesome kill that they managed to do without any help from us. Healing lead gone? Fine. Tank gone? No problem. In a way it feels great, because the organization that you’ve worked so hard on is strong enough to survive a temporary adversity–but in another, it’s like seeing a baby grow up and not need you so much anymore–part of you wants it to stay the way it was! Great article Auz

Lovely singing - thank you. Even a troll would have to agree - well the ones I know would anyway! Those damn long ears….
Some great moments to be sure. It takes a strong leader to appreciate the team’s accomplishments in your absence… I’m not a GM, but a lowlife officer, but I can appreciate what you’re saying. Human nature being what it is, I’d give a lot to have people around me that were happy about the accomplishments of the team and not pissed about what they missed out on…
Thanks again for the song!
