Why GMs make the best lovers.

So follow me here for a second.

Matt got Saresa up in arms about why Warlocks make great lovers after he declared that Warlocks are not his type. Matt then challenged his readers to defend the amorous virtues of their class. The challenge prompted Syd to highlight the virtues and pitfalls of a druidic lover. With me so far? Good!

I’m here to tell you they’ve got it all wrong. Regardless of class, GMs make the best lovers.

  • Do it for the DKP - Sleeping your way to better loot is a time honered MMORPG tradition for a reason; it works! A wink and a nod from your GM can open a great many doors for you.

  • We’re a real command act - Sar hinted she’s learned a few tricks from Domxia, but who do you think trained Domxia? Her GM that’s who. After leading a raid full of people to protect Azeroth from annihilation, your GM can certainly handle it if you want to hand over the reigns and let them lead.
  • We’ve done our research - GMs are studious people who are used to needing to have all the answers. I’m certain your GM knows tips and tricks that the average lay person doesn’t.
  • We’re dependable - You can’t be a GM for very long if you don’t do what you say you’ll do. You can count on your GM to keep their promises.

  • We’re discrete - As GMs we’re often privy to more intimate knowledge of our teammates than the average person. We’ve learned how to keep our mouths shut and never kiss and tell.
  • We’ll tell you exactly what we want - GMs have learned the advantages of giving people a clear, concise explanation of our expectations. Your GM will never tell you “If you really loved me you’d know what I want.”
  • We have endurance - Sar mentioned a warlock’s endurance but that’s piddle compared to the strength and endurance it takes to keep members motivated and on track. Regardless of our hitpoints, we’ll keep going as long as we’re needed to get the job done.

  • We know how to gather a crowd - If you’re into that kind of thing, you’ll find your GM has a knack for drawing people together to meet a common goal
  • We’ll try anything once - We’re always up for something new that might improve our play.

Before you ask:

  • No, this didn’t prevent you from getting real content. I wasn’t planning on writing today before I read Syd’s post.
  • Yes, I’m still planning on following up the Wrath planning series.
  • No, I’m not serious sleeping with your GM is a terrible idea. I mean sure it could be fun at first, but hell hath no fury like a pissed off GM. No matter how it ends, you’re screwed.
  • Yes, I intended you’re screwed to be a pun.
  • No, I won’t apologize for punning in public.

Announcing PlusHeal.com

When I have the spare time, I frequently chat with Matt and Wyn about all things holy priest. Sometimes when we’re talking Matt says; “you should post that.” My response is typically; “that’s not the focus on my blog. The neophyte and seasoned priests can go to your world for priesting.” That being said, I spend a lot of time thinking about and talking about healing. I have to. Aside from guild leading, I wear the healing role lead hat for my guild. I build our healing strats and I evaluate, recruit, and coach our healers. Beyond that, I just enjoy it. So when Matt came to me and said “Auz, what do you think about a new healing community?” I said “YES! Sign me up.” PlusHeal.com is that community. It’s intended as a gathering spot for healers of all levels of experience; from the new wow player, to the gee I wanna make an alt, to the we’re working on Kil’jaden and everything in between.

As far as bloggers go, Matt has tapped the healing think tank. I’m frankly honored to be collaborating with such intelligent, talented people to help form this community. The roster includes:
Matticus of World of Matticus
Wyn of World of Matticus
Siha of Banana Shoulders
Anna of Too Many Annas
Lume of Lume the Mad and
Nuetralise of Spirit is Your Friend

EDIT: Just when I thought it couldn’t get better it did! Phae from Resto 4 Life has joined the team!

Matt blew the lid off our NDA (Non Disclosure Agreement for you kids who aren’t hip to the lingo - have I mentioned I’m taking a lot of medicine?) in his announcement post today. At this point, all we’re really missing is you. Even if you aren’t a healer, I encourage you to pop in. As a leader, it’s always helpful to get a perspective from a different raid role.

PS - To the English language and all who study it, I sincerely apologize for my abuse of colons and semicolons. I’d like to say it won’t happen again. I’d like to say that if you teach me the rules I’ll follow them. That fact is, I won’t. I am irreverent in my use of these misunderstood punctuation marks. I can’t help myself. Please know that while I am unwilling to renounce my sins against my mother tongue, I am deeply sorry for the pain and suffering I have caused.

10 Unforgettable Moments and a Song.

Thanks Cathmor from Eye for an Eye for this BA Shared Topic idea.

Top 10 Unforgettable Warcraft Moments (for a Raiding GM)

  • Turning in the charter
  • First guild only boss kill
  • Killing the last boss of any instance for the first time
  • The first time you have no open recruitment positions
  • The first time someone asks “What’s a good guild on this server?” in trade chat and someone not associated with your guild mentions your guild.
  • Seeing a raider develop under your tutelage
  • The first time they “do it without you.” - It takes a strong leader to be irreplaceable, it takes a stronger leader to create a guild that can function without them.
  • Overcoming adversity - Even you were struggling, but you pulled through and the guild is stronger now.
  • The first time there’s nothing left for you to kill so you have to give raiders the night off.
  • The first time someone tells you “You have a member for life.” and you believe them.

And a Song

I was learning some new audio software and recorded a round. Given the lack of trolls (though I did get a Tauren) and overwhelming positive feedback from the last time I sang for ya, I thought I’d share again.

The file can be downloaded here if the embedding doesn’t work for you.

New Home, New Pants

Looks a little different huh? I was feeling cramped by the limitation of my third party hosting and decided to bite the bullet and make my own home.

Welcome to www.ChickGM.com! Expect to see some tweaks to the layout while I learn my way around this self hosting thing. Many thanks to the BA (and specifically Matt, Fim and Val) crew for their help thus far!

If you are one of the lovely people who has included me in your blogroll, it’d be wonderful if you could update my link, but the old link should direct people here for a while.

In other news, I got new pants tonight. (I couldn’t make a whole post about my new pants, but gosh darn it, I’m excited about them anyway!)

New pants, new site the world is my oyster my friends.
